The firm was founded in 1948 by Ron McGregor who was later joined by Martin Bailey to form McGregor Bailey. Since then, others have joined as principals, and the firm has now grown to be a medium sized Auckland Chartered Accountants practice with over 30 current staff. Having been in Ponsonby since 1971, the firm is currently situated at 2 Crummer Road, in a purpose built owned premises.
We are a member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants and of Kreston International, an association of medium size accountancy firms established to serve international clients (represented in 60 countries). Being a member of Kreston allows us to keep in touch with other international accountants and we are committed to providing ongoing training and support for our staff. This investment in our staff ensures they continue to develop and remain current with business developments and changes.
Generally the principals operate independently of each other with a team structure of staff directly responsible to the principal and their senior manager. We believe our current organisation size is ideal to cater for our clients needs - large enough to offer a full range of services, but small enough to allow personal contact with all of our clients - no lengthy chains of command exist: you deal direct with the principal or staff member completing the work.
